I tried to visualise Heaven.I visited one in my day dream.I waded through the clouds for a long time and I soon saw the 'padipura'of Heaven. There was no watchman or dwarapaalakan (an undersized man with an oversized moustache, like I had seen in the many Hindi movies) standing at the door.I pushed the door open. A gentle breeze welcomed me and as I walked ahead I felt the cool wind embrace me. As I trod on the soft turf the pain in my legs that had kept me in bed for the last couple of days vanished. The dew on the grass soothed my feet.On either side of the path were colorful orchids in hues I had never imagined. The trees beyond the orchid plants formed a canopy overhead and seemed to wave their arms ,as if giving me a hearty welcome. The path led me to a lawn where stood a table with lots of goodies ....a chocolate mouse, chocolate trifles, a huge black forest cake topped with pounds of scraped chocolates and cherries... yummy! In a bowl were my favourite chocolates.. Mars,Toblerone and Bounty. On the other side of the table there was different flavours of ice cream and crispies and nuts.Ah !Just like I had seen in the 'Pick and Mix' shop in Kaloor..I felt like Alice in Wonderland.I searched for a companion,a Dormouse or a MadHatter... some familiar face...for the people who had reached here ahead of me.... Where were they ?
Probably in another chamber in heaven.
I saw a window amidst the clouds... I rushed to the window and opened it. Looking below I saw the planet which had been my home.My vision zoomed to get a closer view [I had gained some extra ordinary power after death.. (chuckle)]I saw my family still sitting beside my dead body. Were they crying? Somebody in the crowd was saying something nice about me ...I looked as I munched my 'Bounty'.I suddenly missed my family. Was this heaven ? I wished to go down there and be among those whom I love. My mind wept and yearned to see my kids.
I brought my imagination to a pause with the realisation that life on earth is still wonderful and better than what it is in any paradise. My son, who had just returned after his mini shopping from the nearby 'Freshmart' ,extended a Cadbury's bar towards me.I accepted with a smile. oh !My Bounty ! I had not finished that ... sob, sob.
