I am a homeowner !

April 25th: " I could not build a Taj mahal for you ..but here are the keys of the two room flat... all yours." Said hubby dear when he handed me the keys.... a proud moment for me!

May 1st: We had a formal 'griha pravesham' after the 'ganapathi homam'.

At night as we slept in our new home we realised how unplanned this had been .We never had thought of owning a house,at least, not so soon. But now both of us felt we had taken a good decision.. One regret though...may be we should have gone for a three room flat. But then who knows where our kids would be ten years from now.Hubby has twelve years more of service. We have been moving from district to district every three years ,which means at least three transfers more, before we can even think of settling down.By then age would have gifted us companions, that would force us to visit the stethoscoped folks often.Just across the road is the 'Krishna nursing home' so even if there was no one to usher us to the hospital during our weak days, we could just sit in a chair and wheel ourselves to the hospital and get ourselves admitted.
Our nest is on the sixth floor of the seven storied building. Hotels, jewellery shops, music world ,shenoys theatre , Eloor library, Goodwill all easily accesible , (walkable, if we were healthy enough to walk when we came back for good)
' Nice area' said everyone who heard about the location of the flat.

May 2nd: In the morning as we drove back to our rented apartment , making way through the heavy traffic, we only wished Cochin would be habitable ten years hence....
